Short summary of some of my specialisations:

EMDR

EMDR, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing, an evident based method to overcome trauma and bad experiences in a short period of time. As an EMDR therapist I can help you work on your troublesome experiences which can include anything from car accidents, traumatic grief, fear, phobias, handling  (chronic) pain, illness and other painful unresoveld memories.

Expat counselling

The moment the biggest excitement about moving to another country has calmed down mental challenges might come your way. You might be missing family and friends in your home country, or the country that you have just left. You might find that your a little lonely because your social network has to be rebuilt in combination with a partner who is working long hours. You might have a very demanding job, working under different and difficult circumstances which are hard to cope with. Maybe you gave up your job and need to find a new way to fill yours days with a purpose. These are just a few challenges that can cause mental problems like anxiety, home sickness, depressions and so forth. Having been an expat for 20 years of my life I know how important it is to cope with these problems at an early stage.

Career profiling & assessments

With my background as a strategic HR consultant, and as an certified Birkman assessor I offer a short and very effective programme to help you make the right decisions concerning your career and future. The assessment accurately measures productive behaviours, underlying needs and motivations, stress behaviours and organisational orientation. The Birkman Method has become an indispensable tool for human resource and organisational development professionals, as well as individuals that are looking for more insight in their career and relational profile. With a track record of more then 50 years, an extreme high validity and more then 3 million  people who have done the assessment, I truly believe it is a gift to yourself to take the assessment. For companies, mangers and HR managers it is a great method when looking for good working teams, having the right people at the right place as well as for motivational reasons. This can be done in company as well as on an individual basis.

Burn-out

A surprising amount of professionals are dealing with burn-out symptoms like excessively emotional, extreme fatigue, depressions and lack of confidence. You do not get a burn-out in one day. Neither do you get a burn in in one day. Through a structured plan of a least 10 sessions, with homework in between I will teach you how to find yourself again. How to relax, what is the source of your fatigue, what do you need to change? What is it that you need to find a good work-life balance.

Grief counselling

Grief is something we all get to deal with at some point of our lives. Grief for the loss of a loved one, grief for the loss of a life phase or a job. Grief is part of life.  Grief becomes a problem when you are not able to process it. This can happen because of traumatic experiences when losing a loved one, such as car accidents or suicide. Generally very unexpected loss can become complicated. It can also turn into disenfranchised  grief when mourning for a loved one that has disappeared or has joined a sect that does not allow contact with loved ones. Unprocessed grief can lead to physical and psychological challenges. It is therefore important to integrate and accept the mourning process into your life.

Sectarian relationships and destructive mind control

A sectarian relationship occurs when one person, on purpose, manipulates another or others with as result that they become dependent on the abusive leader or partner for all significant life choices. The victim is not aware of this process of destructive mind control. Possibly he/she will lose all contact with family and friends and go through a complete lifestyle change. I am specialised in helping family and loved ones of victims of mind control. As an exit-coach I also help victims that have decided to leave the destructive relationship and start over with their lives. The healing process depends one the time and depth of the cult or cult-like involvement and can include coping with installed cult triggers, emotional harm, sleeping disorders, anger, grief, depression, disorientation, guilt and shame.
